Welcome to The Drama-Play
Connection! Held on the beautiful campus of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, our Drama Workshop is designed to foster pragmatic language and leadership skills through the powerful art of drama. Additionally, our program teaches the fundamentals of acting, as well as being part of a film company for the summer. The Drama-Play Connection serves both mainstream students, as well as children and adolescents who function well in most areas, but are struggling with the social skills, shyness and /or confidence. Our program provides students an opportunity to make new friends and feel good about their interactions with others. Students also have opportunities to develop their leadership skills. All workshops are designed for mainstream students wanting a strong drama experience while also supporting students struggling with social skills or confidence. In addition to the curriculum (described for each week - see links), the actors/actresses are cued by their drama/social coaches to read and use appropriate body language, as well as develop their own personal goals. The highlight of the summer for the students is the opportunity to "co-star" in a full hour-long movie! The children also enjoy other activities, such as:
